Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is one of the antioxidant vitamins. It is the skin’s main non-enzymatic water-soluble antioxidant. It palliates oxidative damage to epidermal cells caused by ultraviolet radiation and has a whitening effect. It stimulates collagen synthesis by activating its regulator gene (transcriptional effect). It is also involved in the synthesis of important elements of the extracellular matrix of the connective tissue, as well as activation of peptide hormones and tyrosine catabolism.

Indications

Treatment indicated for protection against oxidation caused by UV rays, photoaging, dull, lackluster skin, melasma and hair loss caused by seborrheic dermatitis.
